Due Process Hearings
When a dispute with a school district cannot be resolved through meetings or informal negotiation, a due process hearing provides a legal forum to address these disputes. We represent families in these formal hearings, presenting evidence, questioning witness and advocating for the student’s right to appropriate services, accommodations and placement. Our goal is to navigate the legal process efficiently while protecting your child’s educational rights under Florida law and IDEA.
Litigation
OCR Complaint Assistance
When a student experiences discrimination or unequal access at school due to the child’s disability, we file complaints with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights.

Federal Court Litigation
A federal complaint is a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court when a school violates your child’s rights under IDEA, Section 504, or ADA. Unlike due process hearings, a federal complaint moves the dispute into the federal court system, where a judge review the case the evidence, and the district’s actions. We represent families through every stage of this process, including drafting the complaint, developing legal arguments, preparing evidence, and litigating the case in court. Our goal is to provide strong, strategic representation that holds the district accountable.
Mediation
Mediation is a voluntary process where families and the school district work with a neutral mediator to resolve disputes with a hearing. We prepare your case, guide the discussion, and advocate for an agreement that meets your child’s needs and protects your child’s education rights.
